- You must ensure that the space you are thinking of renting is adequate and that you can afford to pay for it from your present finances. You should not rent a property based on the expectation that in a few months time you will be making more money.
- It is imperative that you completely understand the lease contract. In particular you need to know the conditions by which the lease can be ended by both parties. You have to be sure that you are not going to be tied to a contract that you cannot get out of if you really need to and your landlord should not be able to evict you at a moments notice.
- Try to establish whether or not it is permissible to advertise outside the building especially if customers are going to be visiting your premises. It is not enough to just assume that you will be able to.
- If your landlord has more than one unit to rent in the same building make sure that he won’t be renting one of them out to one of your competitors.
- It is always best to have an expert glance over your leasing contract if possible. Then you can be positive that you are signing a legitimate contract which is going to suit your requirements.
It doesn’t matter what type of business you run; you will always need some sort of office space to do the admin side of things. Depending where in the world you actually live will determine how east it would be to acquire such offic space.
